How to Submit a DMCA Notice

If you are a copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of one, and you believe that content accessible through TorStream infringes your copyright, please submit a DMCA notice to dmca-projectstream@proton.me containing the following information:

1. Identification of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed
2. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing (include the URL)
3. Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email
4. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner
5. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
6. Your physical or electronic signature

What Happens After You Submit a Notice

Upon receipt of a valid DMCA notice, TorStream will:

• Review the notice for completeness
• Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content
• Notify the affected user of the takedown
• Maintain a record of the takedown notice

Counter-Notice Procedure

If you believe your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to dmca-projectstream@proton.me with the following information:

1. Identification of the removed material
2. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed due to mistake or misidentification
3. Your name, address, phone number, and email
4. Your physical or electronic signature
5. A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of your local Federal District Court

What We Can and Cannot Do

We understand that copyright infringement through torrent networks is a significant concern. For copyright holders seeking to remove content, we recommend:

• Submit DMCA notices to torrent indexers and trackers directly
• Contact hosting providers for sites that host infringing content
• Use automated services like MarkMonitor or BranditIP for large-scale enforcement
• Focus on distribution sources rather than individual users

Repeat Infringer Policy

TorStream maintains a repeat infringer policy. Users who are found to repeatedly upload or distribute infringing content may have their access to TorStream services terminated.

However, please note that TorStream does not track individual user activity or maintain user accounts, making it difficult to identify repeat infringers. We rely on valid DMCA notices to identify problematic content.
